OAKLEY under-16 football team won a thrilling Inter-League Cup, as they beat Beacon Hill Knights from Hindhead 3-2 in the final played at Cherrywood Road, the home of Farnborough FC.

The competition is for sides in both the North East Hants Youth League and Peter Houseman Youth League Oakley came out strongly in the first half with a great team goal, assisted by Owen Roll and followed in by George Farrelly.

Then, Jordan Goater produced an amazingly strike from 40 yards and the ball bounced over the top of the Knights' goalkeeper to make the score 2-0 at the break.

In the second half, the Knights came out strongly and scored twice to make it 2-2.

However, Oakley hit back as Jack Thomas scored the winner assisted by Jordan Goater.

Manager Daryl Goater at only 22 years old has performed superbly, managing and coaching the team to this win.

Man of the match for the final was shared between Filip Poynter and Matthew Blunden who worked hard in the centre of defence.

The team are also on tender hooks waiting to see if they can make this a double and finish top of the league too.
