HYDE Abbey A have taken over top spot in the Whitchurch League Division One after beating Old Basing Cavaliers 52-46, writes NORMAN FIGG.

Howard Park A surprisingly put Kingsclere to the sword 61-44 and moved into second place and Andover B won away at Oakley Buzzards to take the third slot.

In Division Two, Marnell Blues won their second match on the trot beating Hyde Abbey B 60-35 and head the division, just in front of Whitchurch Yellows on shot difference as they beat Andover A by one shot 47-46.

Basingstoke Town Diamonds beat Hook Hares 52-42 and Alton Social managed a comfortable win over Littleton Lemurs 66-47.

Division Three is headed by Howard Park C after beating St Mary Bourne Eagles 64-34. Oakley Kingfishers held on to second place, despite losing at Kingsclere Partridges 52-46.

Hook Foxes are third as they beat Town’s Jokers 68-39. Whitchurch Blues picked up their first win at home to Andover C 51-37.

Howard Park B head Division Four after beating Kingsclere Pheasants 47-37. Friary have started strongly and hold second slot after beating Old Basing Royalists 38-20.

Oakley Kites are also unbeaten in third place after a win at St Mary Bourne Merlins 51-45. Oakley’s Woodpeckers beat Littleton Lions 66-41.

Last week, the weather played a significant part in reducing the matches in Whitchurch League Division One as Basingstoke Town hammed Hyde Abbey A 73-28.

In the first week of Basingstoke and District Division One, Kingsclere are top after beating Oakley 71-52. Whitchurch are second after a win over Basingstoke Town 63-50.

Alton Social are third as they won away at Andover 67-55 and finally Howard Park won at Old Basing by one shot 62-61.
