NORTH Hampshire Road Club’s annual 10-mile championship on the A4 Aldermaston course saw Phil Watts (21 min 34sec) and Tracy Cornell (26:26) crowned champions.

The top finishers were: Phil Watts (21:34), Jonathan Hobby (22:28), Andre Posthuma (22:39), Barry Eeles (22:47 PB), Andy Self (22:56), Carl Nolan (23:15), Robert Watson (23:37), Aaron Briscoe (23:55), Robin Smith (24:04) and Martin Jeffery (24:04), Previous to this, the club held a time trial using standard road racing bikes rather than time trial aero machines over a fast 10-mile out-and-back course.

Rob Hardyman put in a fantastic ride as he finished in 22min 44 seconds, but had to settle for second place.

This was because the event was held on handicap times, so new rider Ben Draper (26:39), won on handicap and now leads this series of three races.

l On the non-competitive front, NHRC’s Sunday rides are in full swing, leaving Monk Sherbourne Village Hall at 9am prompt, all are welcome with various paced rides available.
