HAMPSHIRE Court A won the Ladies Division One crown for the first time after they beat previously unbeaten and defending champions Goodworth Clatford 7-1 in their final match, writes RICHARD MOLE.

Julie Frankland/Sally Cackett won all their sets and they were supported over the season by Tina Wood/Emma Giddings.

Beechdown A came second after a draw with Totally Tennis, a 7-1 win at RSF and an 8-0 win over Odiham. Clare Munns/Andrea Butcher were unbeaten in their matches with Ali Coughlan/Rachel Fletcher supporting.

Sharon De Botte and Emma Barnes won all their sets for Totally Tennis A in their 7-1 win against Aldermaston. Karen McKenzie/Keren Bailey and Antonia Durrant/Julia Redman made up the Aldermaston team who beat RSF 8-0. Mortimer A secured draws against both Odiham and Aldermaston.

In Division Two, Andover secured the title after an 8-0 win at Beechdown C with their team of Clare Reid/Anne Brook and Jennie Pope/Amy McDonald. They had also earlier beaten the runners-up Old Basing 5-3 to win the division.

Totally Tennis B drew with Beechdown B and won 5-3 at Mortimer B with Gill Gibson/Isla Hignett winning all their sets.

Beechdown B won 5-3 at Mortimer B and a maximum from Deb Crook/Barbara Russell gave Whitchurch a 7-1 win at Beechdown C.

Michelle Goulding and Gillian Butler won all their sets for Mortimer B in a 7-1 win over Whitchurch.
