I’ve been renewing line, varnishing floats and generally getting my river gear together for the start of the new season on June 16.

Sadly there is a whole generation of anglers who have never sampled the delights of putting a stick float through a swim, or waggler fishing on running water, on the bright side the less people fishing natural venues the more bank space for me and like minded anglers.

The Disabled World Angling Championships were fished on the River Labe in the Czech Republic recently where Adventure AS angler Alan Chadbone was part of the English Team that finished in the bronze medal position. So well done to him.

Catch me next week.
