THE British Superbike Championship (BSB) will speed into Thruxton Race Circuit near Andover this weekend and the Basingstoke Gazette have two pairs of weekend tickets to give away.

BSB is Britain’s biggest motorsport series and Thruxton is the country’s fastest racetrack, making for a perfect match as the two-wheeled warriors do high-speed battle around the Hampshire circuit’s flat-out sweepers.

Always a spellbinding spectacle, a thrilling weekend of high-octane action is guaranteed as the sprint for the end-of-season ‘Showdown’ intensifies, with only the top six riders earning the opportunity to fight for the coveted crown.

Multiple BSB champion Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne currently leads the way for Ducati, but former World Superbike Championship star Leon Haslam and a whole host of other contenders are all in hot pursuit, including ex-Grand Prix hero John ‘Hopper’ Hopkins and local lad Tommy Bridewell, who will surely receive plenty of home support.

Whilst the formidable BSB brigade will undeniably be the major draw, there will also be a wide variety of superb support series action from British Supersport to National Superstock 600 and 1000, British Motostar, the Ducati TriOptions Cup and the ever-entertaining British Sidecars.
