TWENTY two Kennet Osprey members fished on an off form Marsh Farm on Sunday last and some wished they had not bothered.

However, Keith Saunders found the fish utilising the method feeder and 45lb 12oz of carp, crucian carp, tench and skimmers found there way into his net to record an emphatic win.

Gerry Nickells carp, tench and bream bag, weighed an even 17lb and gave him second spot, utilising pole and maggot. Bob Poulton caught 15lb of mixed on the method whilst Graham (end peg) Shadwell weighed in 14lb on pole and maggot.

Some caught very little, some did not weigh and some will definitely not be going back.

Adventure AS went to Greenridge Farm on Sunday last where Robin Guppy blitzed 199lb 12oz of carp, up in the water on pole and pellet.

Kevin Smith fished on corn using the pole and weighed in 186lb 8oz, Mark Blackmons’ pole and paste caught 166lb 8oz of carp with Mick Fordham making up the frame on 144lb again on pole and paste. Fifteen fished and caught.

Adventure travel to Panshill Fishery near Oxford this coming Sunday, Camrose will be at Whitehouse Lake, Basingstoke Railway Club are at Frobury Farm and Kennet Osprey are going to Gold Valley.

Stacey's Match Group fished their latest match at Soke Road Lake and Andy Wicks topped out with 38lb 2oz of mixed on pole and pellet.

Matthew Butlers 24lb 12oz of carp were caught on the pole with corn offerings, Stacey's supremo Keith Brown fished with pole and maggot (what else) for his 23lb 6oz of carp with Daniel Butler rounding off the frame on 23lb 4oz. Thirteen fished and caught.

Camrose AC were at Adventure’s Willow Pool and last Sunday and Bobby Williams sorted it best, catching 47lb 8oz of carp on pole and paste.

Brian Orchard’s 42lb of carp fell to the method feeder, Danny Williams caught on pole and paste and weighed in 37lb of carp whilst Paul Bassinder caught 34lb of carp to make up the frame. Eleven fished and caught.

I’m off to fish Simon Couling’s open match on the River Thames at Sonning this Saturday, it will be interesting to see how the old river fishes.
