BASINGSTOKE powerboat racer Daisy Coleman and brother Sam Coleman were crowned P1 SuperStock UK champions in their Pertemps P1 Panther after the final races at Bournemouth.

Leading the way as they arrived in Dorset, the pair found conditions very rough on the first day of racing.

However, this did not stop the duo, as they secured the crown with a third place from their first outing.

This was after the second race was abandoned on safety grounds due to poor visibility.

To celebrate their crown, on Sunday the Colemans turned on the style and they produced a double victory, So becoming the first team in their debut season to feature on the podium at every event.

It capped a superb year for the pair which started at Scarborough which saw them tied at the top with rivals Quantum Racing.

Back to back wins in Scotland followed to open up a lead as they headed south to their home event at Gosport and then after Cardiff they had a 39 points lead as they headed to Bournemouth, which they increased to 47 by the end of the championship.

A delighted Daisy Coleman said: “It just goes to show the hard work and commitment we’ve given to training, testing and improving has paid off!

“We’ve looked after the boat and she’s looked after us. Its truly been a rollercoaster of emotions and without the support of our family, Sam’s long suffering girlfriend and our sponsors we wouldn’t have been able to do it.

She added: “The biggest thanks goes to John Wilson, this championship was won in John’s honour after being so close for the last three years - we finally did it.”
