BASINGSTOKE racer Aaron Morgan, a Team BRIT driver, secured a class win in the British Endurance Championship's latest round.

Morgan, who is paraplegic, and his teammate Paul Fullick, a lower leg amputee, successfully finished first in class on April 13.

This win follows a strong performance at Donington Park Circuit over Easter weekend where, despite a pole lead, they were unable to secure a win due to mechanical failure.

At the two-hour endurance race, Morgan started before Fullick entered in P2, going on to claim first in their class.

The weekend's performance now ranks the duo P4 overall in championship points. The next race for Morgan is slated for June 15 at Silverstone.

He said: "I’m really pleased with my performance. My lap times were consistent and I was able to put up a strong battle against the cars in higher classes, with a really strong start.

"Paul then went on to drive brilliantly, bringing home our podium finish.

"This result is not only down to us drivers however, our crew executed the race strategy perfectly and gave us a great handling car all weekend, with perfect pitstops.

"We started the season fully committed to pushing for a championship win and I’m so pleased that our points are now reflecting the passion and determination we have, after some bad luck in round one."
