THE Basingstoke Bison have beefed up both their forward lines and defence with their latest three signings, which were announced at the club’s Season Ticket Night last night.

The Herd have added new British forwards Ivan Antonov and Dan Davies to their offence and on defence Basingstoke-born Stuart Mogg has re-signed.

Antonov is one of the top young players in the English Premier League and 19-year-old led the Bracknell Bees British scoring last season, scoring 24 times in a points total of 65.

It took the teenager’s tally to over 100 in the past two years for the Bees which is over a point a game.

Davies is an experienced campaigner and the 26-year-old has won various honours in the EPL, a league and cup double with the Telford Tigers and two play-off titles with the Slough Jets.

He is a solid performer, who plays really well at both ends of the rink and brings some steel to whatever forward line he plays on.

Local lad Mogg is a very popular member of the Herd and the 21-year-old will suit up for a fourth full campaign.

Last year, the former Bison junior won Doug Sheppard’s award as his player of the season.

Herd head man Sheppard said: “I am really pleased with the three additions to the Bison. I really like the look of the team we are building at the moment. It may only be early June, but I am excited already for this season.”
